NetIX Communications - The BEST Internet Exchange announced at the 14th annual Global Carrier Awards 2018 in London

On October 24, 2018 NetIX Communications won the first prize in the category “Best Internet Exchange” at the largest telecommunication industry event – Global Carrier Awards 2018. The Awards were handed out at a gala dinner by Capacity Media CEO Rosalind Irving and Capacity Editor-in-Chief and head judge for the GCAs Jason McGee-Abe. NetIX was shortlisted together with two other Exchange platforms among 542 other IXP's worldwide. Given the 20+ years background of the other big exchange platforms, NetIX has been providing its services to the market for less than 6 years. Still, NetIX has the widest network coverage and the biggest number of directly visible peers.

For the past year, since its previous nomination in the same category, NetIX followed a successful business development process and had remarkable achievements – opening 5 new PoPs in 5 different markets, creating 3 new local IXP instances, introducing crypto currency payments, developing new services such as access to transit traffic, direct to cloud, TV/Audio multicast distribution and DDoS protection.
